Bangalore University (BU), established in 1964, is a prominent public state university located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In 2023, BU was accredited with an A++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The university originated from Central College, established in 1886, and gained university status in 1964. It has since expanded to include two campuses: Jnanabharathi and Central College.
