They can attempt the exam a maximum of two times in consecutive years and should not have previously accepted an IIT seat. Candidates must meet specific category-wise criteria for selection. Ensure you check all requirements before applying for the exam.

3. Number of Attempts

A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times, in two consecutive years. Candidates who appeared for JEE Advanced 2024 for the first time can appear again in 2025. Similarly, candidates appearing for the first time in JEE Advanced 2025 will also have the option to attempt it in 2026. Candidates who have appeared for JEE Advanced before 2023 are not eligible to appear for the 2025 exam.

4. Class XII (or Equivalent) Examination

Candidates must have passed their Class XII (or equivalent) examination either in 2024 or 2025. If a candidate appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2023 or earlier, they are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025, regardless of the subjects they studied.

5. Earlier Admission to IITs

Candidates who have previously been admitted to any IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), whether or not they continued the program or accepted an IIT seat, are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025.

This eligibility criterion ensures that only deserving candidates with the right academic background and qualifying marks in JEE Main 2025 can compete for the coveted IIT seats. Be sure to plan accordingly and prepare thoroughly to secure your spot at one of India's top engineering institutions.
