University of Delhi Admission Process
The University of Delhi (DU) follows a structured process for admitting students to its undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs. The process for UG admissions is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which replaced the CUCET exam. The CUET is a national-level exam that evaluates candidates for various undergraduate courses, including BA, BSc, BCom, BA (Hons), and BCom (Hons). For PG admissions, the process is similar, with CUET-PG being the deciding factor. Below are the six key steps involved in the DU admission process for 2025:
Step 1: DU CUET Registration 2025
The CUET registration typically begins in the last week of February for both UG and PG courses. Candidates must fill out the online application form on the official CUET UG or CUET PG websites once the registration window opens. This registration is essential to appear for the exam.

Once the CUET results are announced, DU will begin the CSAS registration process for final college and course allocation, which is expected in July.
Step 2: Appear for the CUET Exam
Candidates who register for CUET must appear for the exam in the subjects of their choice. The exam is conducted online and is of national-level significance. It is essential to score valid marks to move on to the next phase of the DU admission process.
Step 3: How to Apply for DU UG CSAS?
After qualifying for the CUET exam, candidates need to apply for seat allocation on the DU CSAS portal. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official CSAS Portal of DU and register as a new user.
- Fill out preferences for college and course combinations in order of priority. This step will be crucial for the seat allocation process.
- Pay the one-time CSAS (UG) application fee, which is non-refundable.

Note:
- Candidates applying for BFA must pay an additional fee of INR 400 (non-refundable).

Step 4: DU CSAS Counselling Process
- The CSAS counselling process begins after the CUET results are declared. Candidates who have opted for DU during the CUET application process must apply on the CSAS portal. The following steps will guide you through the counselling process:
- After the CUET UG results are announced, candidates need to register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases. Fill in your college and course preferences in order of priority.
- The university will release the CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories. During this phase, candidates will be offered provisional seat allocation based on merit, category, and available seats.
- The "Freeze" option in the seat allocation process is crucial. Candidates can select this option to confirm their acceptance of the offered seat. If they are satisfied with the allocated college and course, they can freeze their seat.
- Freeze: If you freeze your choice, you will not be considered for further upgrades in the following rounds.
- Do Not Freeze: If you opt for further consideration, your seat status will remain under review in subsequent rounds.
Once candidates select the "Accept" option, the respective college will verify the uploaded documents and confirm eligibility.
Step 5: Final Seat Confirmation by Students
After the college approves the provisional seat allocation, candidates must pay the admission fee to confirm their seat. Payment will secure your place at the designated DU-affiliated college.
